Secrets of a Sun King 12 Week Scheme

Welcome to our 12 week English Scheme of Work for Upper Key Stage 2 (Years 5 and 6 / P6 and P7) based on 'Secrets of a Sun King'. Throughout the 60 x 1 hour English lessons, your class will be taken on a journey through the book with carefully paced reading opportunities, creatively planned grammar activities, extended writing opportunities and engaging drama lessons! The whole scheme of work is meticulously planned around this high-quality text to completely immerse your class into their learning about ancient Egypt.  
Throughout the 12 weeks, your class will complete an explanation text, a newspaper article, a narrative, a diary entry and a balanced argument. Our scheme of work comes with ALL the resources you will need from teaching videos for the children to Working Wall posters, Power Point slides, differentiated activities, model texts and even hand-drawn images.
